Mixed Emotions

I woke up this morning with a mixed bag of emotions.  First off, I was accepted into the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition for the 50th anniversary.  This is a fabulous show, but can be a bit of a crap shoot to get into.  I'm really excited to be participating this year!

On the other hand, I'm still in a state of disbelief that Harper's Regressive Conservative party won a majority government last night.  What are people thinking?  Big disappointment there...but I'm happy that the NDP did so well.  The next 4 - 5 years will be interesting!

RAW

I'm loving this summer weather...ahhhhh.  Please join me next weekend in Toronto for the Riverdale Art Walk in Jimmie Simpson Park.  This is such a fun and friendly show...I'm looking forward to it.  My friend Denise will be helping me again and she's such a sweetie - she always makes sure that I'm fed and hydrated....you know...stuff that slips my mind, but that is soo important!

W.H.A.T !!

The West Hamilton Artist Tour is this weekend folks!  Come on out to visit all of the terrific studios and homes...bring your Mom!  I will be hosted at 138 Stanley Avenue (studio 7) by Brenda and Connan, who graciously offered up their lovely home.  They're even letting me put nail holes in their walls! How generous is that?
Here are a few new pieces that I'll be showing...but it's better to see them in person!

new work

I've been suffering from a nasty cold for a couple of weeks, but finally I've had enough energy to do some painting.  I've got a couple of shows coming up - one is in Hamilton on Mother's Day weekend.  It's called WHAT, West Hamilton Artist Tour.

Happy Artist Trades

One of my favourite things about art shows is meeting fellow artists...and also participating in trades.  I've traded art for home renovations, photography, trips to Cuba...but I really love to trade for artwork that I otherwise wouldn't be able to afford.  These three treasures are among my most recent trades.  Pam Lostracco is the artist (and she's also a very lovely human) and here's a link to her blog:

Turtles, Trails and Trailer Parks

I'm getting ready to go on a little trip to Jekyll Island, Georgia on Monday.  I'm flying down and staying with a friend in her trailer and all I'm gonna do is ride my bike, walk on the beach and visit the sea turtle sanctuary.  And take lots of pictures.  And read.  And maybe draw some stuff.

I can't wait.
